1. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, and tags.

2. How Halvday Uses Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • Essential cookies for site functionality, security, and consent preferences
  • Analytics cookies (PostHog) to understand website usage and improve the product, only where consent is given

After measurement consent, the first-party halvday_acquisition_v1 cookie stores the first and latest acquisition source, medium, optional campaign and content labels, known referrer hostname, and a safe landing page category for up to 90 days. It contains no raw URLs, query strings, click identifiers or personal contact data. It is deleted when measurement consent is refused or withdrawn.

On halvday.com this cookie is shared with app.halvday.com to measure acquisition through signup after consent on each surface. On halvday.de it stays on that host; acquisition and analytics identity are not transferred to app.halvday.com through links.

When you follow a valid Halvday referral link, we store the first-party halvday_referral cookie for up to 30 days. It contains an opaque referral code and is used only to honour the referral during account creation and prevent invalid or duplicate attribution. The cookie is removed after the authenticated workspace setup succeeds where technically possible.

This referral cookie is essential to provide the referral function you requested and is used without consent under § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG. It is not used for analytics or cross-site advertising.

3. Consent

Non-essential cookies are used only where you have given consent. You can withdraw or change consent at any time through the Cookie settings link in the website footer.

4. Third-Party Tools

Depending on your consent, we use:

  • PostHog Cloud EU (hosted in Frankfurt, Germany) for website analytics, activated only after consent
  • Vercel for hosting, security, and infrastructure logs

We do not currently use Google Analytics or LinkedIn Insight Tag.

5. Managing Cookies

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect site functionality, especially features that rely on session or preference storage.
